Plein Air painting in the Fall
The colors at this time of year are so breathtaking and beautiful that I always long to breathe them in and have them stay in my consciousness until they reappear next year. I wish I could bottle the beauty. But it is fleeting; very soon all the leaves will drop off, leaving the trees bare and naked in the winter winds and snow.
I cannot ‘keep’ them, but I can enjoy being out with them and spending time absorbing them through paint. Every painting makes its own memories. Very often those are added to by the people who stop to talk to me, but this was a more rural, quiet location, on private land. The company was other painters in our group, which is good support. An added benefit of this location was the coffee in the kitchen!
