I’ve worked on the Allaprima Bootcamp by Chelsea Lang for the past 10 months; it has been a great education in direction and technique, with very helpful exercises, and great video mentoring by Chelsea. Now that I’ve worked through all Modules on style and realism, I’m excited to start work on a series of Series. This is my first one—‘Older Men’. 

I chose this subject because I frequently paint older men in our weekly portrait group, and because I feel less pressure to make them ‘beautiful’ and so can play more with the brushstrokes and effects. 

This one is from a photo I took of one of my painting friends from the portrait group. It was a delight to do!
